From birth until around 4 months of age, our daughter didn't seem to need much more than 20 minutes sleep at a time! My husband and I fell into the pattern of picking her up the moment she made a noise and trying to soothe her back to sleep in our arms. Inevitably, the minute her back hit the cot she was wide awake and screaming! The only time I could get her to have a good sleep was to take her out in the pram and walk her around for a couple of hours. Of course, this meant no rest for me! Eventually, I was at the end of my tether and confused by all the different methods and advice contained in the usual parenting books. Finally, after much persuasion on my part, my husband and I agreed to contact Nuala after having read a lot about her on the internet. I can honestly say it was the one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Nuala arrived and immediately made us all feel comfortable and ready for what was ahead. She guided us through the night time routine, diplomatically pointing out what we were doing wrong. She was lovely and caring with our daughter and we felt we were in safe hands. After the second night, our daughter was already sleeping much better and there was also a marked improvement during the day. That was about 15 months ago and our daughter still sleeps at least 12 to 13 hours a night and even smiles when we put her down for the evening! It is amazing how obsessed I had become about sleep before Nuala came along - and I am so glad that she did!

"We previously sleep trained our older daughter when she was 5 ½ months old. However, when our younger daughter Zoey came along things became chaotic in regards to her sleeping. She was exclusively breast fed and co sleeping AND not even close to sleeping through the night. Her naps were wherever we could get her to sleep. We wanted to sleep train her but were afraid of interfering with our older daughters sleep.

Nuala came over when Zoey was just over 5 months and gently guided us through an improved nighttime routine that included breastfeeding. Zoey was able to sleep in her own bed the first night with very little difficulty. The one time she did wake up, Nuala attended to her while we slept. The following night, Zoey slept though without difficulty. Additionally, her naps greatly improved and she now takes 2-3 naps per day in her own crib. Nuala’s sleep training routine did not adversely affect our toddler (and she sleeps in the room next to Zoey).

I would recommend Nuala to anyone who is having difficulty with getting their baby to sleep. Nighttime in our house used to be stressful because of the anxiety that would arise in doing whatever we could to settle the baby. Now we have a plan and know that it is going to work. Taking an exclusively breast fed cosleeping baby who wakes multiple times a night to sleeping through the night in their own crib it quite impressive. Aside from her wonderful coaching through sleep training Zoey, Nuala was also very punctual, professional, and prepared during her visits with us.

Nuala saved my sanity. After five years of broken, shortened sleep and constant giving in to our "distressed" children, Nuala came and taught us how to create a happier life, not just for us but for our children too. Now we are able to do things as a family rather than spending the working week strung out and Saturday and Sunday mornings sleep tagging.

We have our evenings back as well as our nights and it is bliss to be able to do things, either together or seperately. Both my husband and I are less anxious but the greatest benefit has been to our children, who have more energy and are visibly happier little people.

Nuala is a true educator and has taught me so much about myself and my children and about parenting.
